Kitchen Remodeling | Increase the Value of Your Home!
A kitchen remodeling project can greatly upgrade the look of a home. Learn why:
Q: Kitchen remodeling seems to be popular among homeowners who are looking to upgrade their homes. Why is that?
A: Kitchen remodeling is the most popular and significant upgrade homeowners can do their homes. There are a few reasons for that: First, the kitchen is the heart of each home and a gathering spot for families and friends. Second, the open kitchen design concept creates an inviting dining/entertainment space that change the entire energy and flow of the houses.
Q: We routinely hear stories of kitchen remodels costing $60,000 to $100,000. Is that on the high end? How much does the average customer spend for a kitchen remodel?
A: A remodel of $60,000 to $100,000 is on the high end, and it will include custom cabinets, high end solid quartz or granite counter tops and luxurious appliances. The average customer whose needs are pretty basic will spend about $30,000 to $45,000. You’ll get back the money you invest, plus it will make your home more desirable in the event that you want to sell it.
Q: How long does the job take on average?
A: One of our goals is to minimize the construction in the customer’s home. The actual construction takes about four weeks at the customer’s home. However we start the design process, selection of materials and approval of 3D layouts two weeks before that and begin manufacturing the cabinets at the shop.
Q: Many homeowners want granite counter tops, which are considerably more expensive than many of the other options. What are some of the other upgrades people get that can really make a kitchen look better?
A: Actually, the granite counter top is less popular than in the past due to the popularity of the modern design. The new contemporary trend includes more quartz counter top materials, and the variety of colors are much wider than with granite. Other upgrades to make a kitchen unique and beautiful are custom tiles for the backsplash and kitchen floor, elegant cabinet handles, designers pendant lighting and slick appliances.
Q: If someone is contemplating a kitchen remodel, what advice would you give them before they begin their research and actually start the project?
A: Have a general contractor that has a great eye for design. Kitchen remodeling involves many trades such as plumbing, electrical, drywall and plastering, cabinetry, counter tops and tile installers. You need someone who controls all of these aspects of the project. A clear 3D kitchen design will be a key, where types of cabinets, doors styles, and all exact measurements will be specified. God is in the details someone said, and in a kitchen project you will see many. – San Gabriel Valley Tribune
